The Metal version is good, though it doesn't have the latest compiler. My syggestion is that You install POSEK v.3 first and copy all the include files into t Yr. Metal_Proton .inc-folder(don't forget to save the "Using Proton with MPLAB from POSEK folder and install it in Metal's release). Uninstall the the POSEK program and You have a compiler that can take care of a lot of PIC:s(unfortunately not the ever so popular PIC18F4550). Of Course. You can always integrate it into som of the best text editors(I use TextPad)

Thanks robban of the suggestion, but I believe that we have reached the same conclusion. After the puzzle of release (PP30SE, PDE310,ProtonDS quarrel Pic compiler W floating point new version and METAL), downloaded some days ago after the reading of the post of Ahmad_k of, I have PROTON IDE 1.0.4.6 and proton+Compiler 2.2.0.20, (18F2550 and 18F4550 are supported). For the edit I have started to use Ultraedit32 v.12.10a. For a definitive choice I am waiting if some friend reupload Pic Basic For 247.
