If so it is impossible to be disconnected from the Internet, to remove a branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software \HI-TECH Software \PICC \9.50 - ---it is possible to create and start a file clean.reg - it will clean this branch - --- REGEDIT4 [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software \HI-TECH Software \PICC \9.50] - ---the end of a file - --- And to lead offline activization. Hi Maveric,
A very Heart-felt thanks. I downloaded files pointed by you.
Though the compiler still shows as "Evaluation Version", it's expiary date is now "27th Sept. 1976". Well I guess that's OK.
I also checked that compiler compiles for code > 1KWord. Does evaluation version has any other limitations ? Can you check that ?

PL2(Patch Level-2) released in Feb, 2006 4. Size of Download : About 2-3 Mbytes for Actual compilers' zip & 1-2 MBytes for "pdfs" 5. Now these are "evaluation versions" active for 28-days with activation key from HI-TECH. But just register the ".reg" file in compiler zip file & you will get the evaluation version with expiry date -> "27th Sept. 1976". As there will be no one with computer-clock ticking backwords, I guess it'll never expire. There is minor problem though. HI-TECH says that they've deliberately kept something out of "evaluation version". But what it is, I don't know. Package contains everything from "lib-sources" to all tools. It compiles code >1kByte hex output. So you've a eval version with no expiry & not the full version. What you call it now, depends on you. By the way, there is no need to taunt someone for having English as second language. Just ask to repeat more clearly. We are here to help each other despite the language barriers. I tested the above and got this output aftyer a compilation: HI-TECH PICC-18 COMPILER (Microchip PIC micro) V9.50 Copyright (C) 1984-2006 HI-TECH SOFTWARE licensed for evaluation purposes only FAE license only - not for use in commercial applications licensed for educational use only this licence will expire on Mon, 27 Sep 1976 Full optimization and all other options are available. When you are trying to compile the canned examples You might get strange messages about obsolete options, don't worry, because it's it's only the difference between one and two dashes in front of command line options(change in syntax). Of course You must edit the PICC18.reg file in the "resources" folder to suite your needs(in my case I had to change InstDir"="C:\\PICC-18\\9.50". After that You'll be a happy C18-developer For those interested I included the -help output  |

anyknow know where does hi-tech hide it license in window registry? I mean th path... I have installed it once with the 28 demo license, now 28 days pass my license expired so i re-request the 28 demo license but it keep on saying your license expired.......... I deleted everything related to hi-tech, which include directory and .reg registery..... Can anyone help me to reactive the 28 days license? Thanks |

Hi! Instead of fiddling with registry do like this: HI-TECH PICCv.9.50 comes in a bundle consisting of the 'picc-demo', a 'cgpic' and the PICC-engine. It also includes a reg.file called 'htpicc9.50'. Start the picc-demo, request a 28 day demo(be sure to be online) and then uncheck HI-TIDE integration(which I find useless). When the install is finished, copy cgpic and picc into the bin folder of Hi-TECH insallation dir. After that, register the 'reg.file into the register(be sure to set the path according to Yr. needs). When it comes to the PICC18, You have to copy the folder PICC-18 to a folder of Yr. choice. Next open the folder 'Resources' and there You will find an 'setup' file. Run it and choose a 28-day evaluation. Run the Reg.file again and all features will be avaible... Godd luck and return if it doesn't work |

By the way, if You plan to upgrade PICC9.50 to 9.50PL2, You just have to copy the reg.file in the PICC 9.50 install folder to PIC9.50PL2 and change the reg.file to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HI-TECH Software\PICC\9.50PL2].
