I’ve been looking at getting an handheld Oscilloscope or pc based Oscilloscope for looking at canbus signals to aid fault finding and the data nit really to decode.
The picoscooes look good but then the down side is you need a laptop which is not a great issue not sure about the handheld one
Any advise or pointers on which would be best suited ?
Thanks

I recommend you check out Micsig line of tablet oscilloscopes, they are great and cheap for what they offer.

its more than 6 months that I want to make a topic about great and really useful DIY scops out there that I found and tried, so I also can get those who others found, but sadly I can't find enough time.
this one is one of ALMOST free ones! but for enable CAN you need to pay in app, and I am really looking for its cracked version and sadly I couldn't find any yet (for sanctions i can't buy!) its great if someone can help others about it ...

In my opinion, maybe this will help you:

-> FNIRSI 1013D Plus Oscilloscope - Portable Handheld Tablet Oscilloscope with 100X High Voltage Probe, 2 Channels 100Mhz Bandwidth 1GSa/s Sampling Rate 7" TFT LCD Touch Screen

-> Hantek 1008C PC USB 8CH Automotive Diagnostic Digital Oscilloscope/DAQ/Programmable Generator

You can find out on Amazon.

It depends on your need.
