Hi all Ive been away awhile
so my new plan ... Van Life well sort of inside these Chinese diesel heaters is an ECU, It talks to the display/controller both ends seem to contain an ST chip.
I thought getting the code out would be easy so I started buy cheap pcbs that should contain similar chips.. I have failed on such a scale I wont even admit how many W1209,s ive bought.
I gave up there, so new plan just buy the little dev boards with a power led and led connected to pin 20. Write code the flash LED..
I have code but still waiting for more dev boards..
The hack to extract code is just a glitch on the reset pin I think, but it needs to be fairly fast...
once I can get code out of a sample chip I will look at the more expensive ECU pcb's
Back in the old days it was acid and lifting lids.. I hope this one is a little less dangerous..
This is just a place to document, where I am and if I succeed.
But I will post my findings good or bad
