I had tried a stepper motor controller n driver with L297 + L6203 and result is perfect Smiley We will use this circuit in our education purposed CNC machine.

can you share you L297 + L6203 proyect (CNC machine)
i build boards with L297 + L298 for low power stepper, it's work very good.
i use steppers with encoders like servosystem, miniPLC loop controller.
i work in microhydrolelectric, DIY personal power supply. automatic control flow and AVR for sincronics generators.
