Do you need to save money? Well, I need to make money.. Let say I use a wind turbine like the one built by our friend on other thread, erect it on shore, generate electricity to electrolysis seawater producing hydrogen and chlorine, collect it and sell it, make money from free sources. Huh.. that easy? Workable or not, applicable or not, feasible or not - we can discuss it later, but for now what is your idea? -ichan

erect it on shore Kind of kinky if you ask me Well joking aside. Energy production is probably not profitable at all unless you do it in very large scale. And also electrolysis is not a very efficient of making hydrogen. The problem here is that the net is full of so-called energy nuts. That claim they can produce hydrogen by electrolysis. And also get more energy in form the end product. Than they have used in the electrlysis process. This is only stupid fiction. As it grossly violate the fundamental rules of physics

Looks like you are talking about water powered car? No, I am not.
How much is the cost of electricity per KWh at your place?

The water powered car. Is some of the things the energy nuts like to work on. But I was not saying you was working on such nonsense. However there a lot of myths around energy production comming from the energy nuts. The cost pr KWh is about 0.02089 USD

This should make you even dizzier.... A better metric is not the cost of kWh, but the number of expected days to break even on your generating plant, which has to include the site, maintenance, and distribution cost, not just nuts and bolts which is what most technologers only look at. The viability is computed after that point until the plant has to be replaced, but the number you arrive at has to be corrected for present value of money - that is what makes it tough to do, since opportunity cost (put your money elsewhere for a quicker or better return) usually dwarfs the return on "free" energy. You probably have a much bigger return on your money as an investment if you build yourself a robot girlfriend/wife instead of a free energy facility Posted on: September 09, 2012, 07:56:04 19:56 - Automerged

No but I was looking at the raw price . To the end consumer an extra charge is added. So the price end up at my house at 0.15148 USD pr KWh. But anyway Ichan as Solutions explained in a god maner. "Free energy" is the biggest energy myth of them all. You have renewable energy sources. None of them free in any way

Nah, I do not need to build such a robot - I have several real one... 20 ish cents I guess, lets calculate: $0.2 x 24 x 365 = $1752 /KWh/year A 1KW wind turbine from china can be as low as $1000, will break even not even in a year. Well, but looks like I have to move near to a shore to get continuous wind.. -ichan

Silly technologer with a calculator The wind does not blow for 24 hours (shoreline winds have lulls - at least two a day (unless you are on a cape) - offshore do not), nor does it blow to produce full output in the remaining hours, and sometimes you have to shut it down because of the weather or too much wind..... And you didn't compute the tower cost, erection cost (Viagra is expensive), transmission or land costs in your calcs. Or repairs/maintenance/downtime on your (generally) crappy quality Chinese fans. As far as having several girlfriends, each at $30,000 per year, you, more than any of us, would benefit from a production line of 'bots...AND, they have a mute button which is priceless.

Huahaha.. no, I am a naive opportunist with a pc connected to internet. You just mentioned that, sildenafil massively produced in that source of crappy quality things, very cheap - better candidate to make money perhaps? But, you have to know - the quality of of the girls is two thumbs up! With fractional cost of what have you said... -ichan

Heck the cost of copper is so stupid high right now it will cost you a small fortune just to wire it up... Truth is that if it was as easy to generate sustainable profit as some proclaim, everyone would be doing it, yet few are even with huge government handouts...

Clear enough, $0.2 per KWh is too small to erect the pole even on the best place (even without viagra) Need some values to be added, ideas please? Crazy one will be good. Now I am thinking to electrocute the sea/lake/pond and then collect the stunned /death fishes... @Solutions: I just use my silly calculator again: here $3K /GF/Year is more than enough - make it double for WF. -ichan

Nice idea with girlfriends powered generator but hard to be free I guess - I can see the concept is similar with the one on the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YOAmqXEehAAnd something funny can happen if you put 3 girlfriends in one place: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1S1VhAF5laoAbout your link, no I am not a believer of magnet motor - even nicola tesla can't make it to work. Anyway, why 50 shades of gray? It should be Infinite, but I guess you shot it too high... -ichan

By far the best way to make money from "free" energy is to write a book about it and sell it to the less-informed. Maybe even a website with advertising. Offer to design their systems (for a fee). That's where the real money is.
The second best way is to get some goverment grant money for some sort of energy project. That's "free" money!

Better yet don't even write the book just advertise that you will tell them the biggest secret to making money from 'free' energy for $19.95... When you get your $19.95 write them back and say "Here is the BIG secret you just paid for! To make money off free energy all you need to do is take out an advertisement offering to let people in on the big secret for $19.95... Let the money roll in by passing on the same secret I just shared with you!" BTW that works for any 'secret' scheme you want

Wow Oldvan you really did it, one more step to the girlfriends powered: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfFcWIiSBiQAfter reading the novel review on wiki, I am not interested to read it - I like the romantic one , and I have to make it clear: several != many. Well, the reason behind my original question is because I have a chance to buy a 1KW wind turbine which can be included in a container of machines imported from china - I am looking for reasons to justify it. Hasn't got any yet... so I better change the question: If I have 1KW wind turbine, what should I do with it? -ichan

If you have a lot of time, you can build this (which is a really STUPID idea to charge the EV batteries using a wind turbine): You can turn the generator into a motor very easily. In that case, get yourself a bedsheet, some metal conduit, and a pair of roller skates:

I can see that you were thinking for the answers, thanks for that.
I will put idea #1 into my notes: Charging station for electric car (not being carried by the car itself). But, why it is stupid?
I will throw out the idea #2: it consumes energy, not producing it..
See, I take it seriously - More please!

While on the subject of water powered car, how about giving a thought on air power? Development on air pressure are quite encouraging including air-cars, generators, etc. Air power is one of the cheapest source for convertible energy. - Ramnish
