NXP was giving eval boards of their ARM-based processors away for free at ESC.

Means they should be fairly cheap, I'd think.

I have a couple of the old Bluescreen with 2.8" glcd and touchscreen.

$116 + postage.
the software examples that are free  to download, are easy to use. I use the Rowley crossworks compiler, and it works a treat.

http://www.thaieasyelec.net/index.php/ARM/Bluescreen-ARM7-LPC2378-with-2-8-inch-QVGA-TFT-LCD-Touch-Screen/p_2.html

also, Thaieasy's new SUN7 boards look good.

$195 + postage for the 4.3" GLCD full dev system, but there are cheaper options.
