This is a historical day for the PICKit2 programmer. It is now possible to program AVR microcontrollers with PICKit2 without hardware/firmware modifications. I love both PIC and AVR. Isnt that nice to have a single programmer? Ohh.. one last thing.. there is some kind of restriction clause or something like that in the pk2 license agreement, but i dont agree  I've created a page to explain how it works. http://pickit2avrisp.wordpress.com/http://pickit2.isgreat.orgThe project is in alpha stage. Can it be applied to 8051? say 89S51 No. AVRISP doesnt support 89S. By the way will it work with pickit2 clones? Sure. Some clones tend to simplify the PICKit2 by removing some of its features like the "Programmer-To-Go" leaving out some components from the original design, but PICKit2AVRISP doesnt need that. I updated the page, uploaded version 0.2. As I said, the project is in "work in progress" stage. |
