I realy believe that CCS realy screwed up their compiler.
v4 looks really amateur. I don't like the user interface. It occupies very much of the screen.
What do you think about this version?

Yes, you are right. The user interface reminds me of the early eighties of the last century - the time before Apple and then Microsoft published their user interface style guides.
8-)
But up to now I haven't testet the rest ...

I don't like user interface in this version because I want work space more than the big menu bar that hard to access. Huh

If they relly want to make something fancy they should have done some "skin" function.
I really hate the actual User Interface.

CCS is doing this to get in line with the new vista look. Though they have made some progress in that direction, I think the general change is one for the worse.

The ide occupies so much space and isn't useful that much. Is there a way to turn it of?

You can always run CCC in the MPLAB IDE or just use a bit more advanced texteditor, like TextPad, which has the capability to launch DOS commands...

i agree MPLAB is still the best text editor.. i'm using it other than the compilers' own IDE. currently i was able to use it on PBP, Proton, CCS, Hi-Tech, IAR, etc. all that you need to do is to configure your system and MPLAB IDE. you can find everything on the net that says how to configure MPLAB to work with different compilers and you can actually use ICD2 or ICE or any programmer within MPLAB.. well of coarse for a third-party programmer you will need to create an interface for that.

More Power guys

I had tested RTOS examples from CCS, and in 3.249 never work....but in 4.180 it works...

What do you think about this?
