Hai Friends use the following design software for SMPS Design ite free and really worthy Fairchild Power Switch FPS SMPS Design Tool Kit 1.6 http://www.fairchildsemi.com/whats_new/offline_smps_toolkit.htmlonly thing you have to register that also free. Enjoy the generous service provided by Fairchild See the screen shot in the attachment as my browser doesn't allow me put the scrn shot in the editor area.

Hi, Here is an important Book related to smps. I find the Book very much informative and useful for smps designers. The book is-- Switch mode Power Supply Hand book by Keith Billing. Enjoy the beautiful book and gain knowledge if you think necessary/useful. http://rapidshare.com/files/176895679/keith_billing-switching_power_supply_handbook.rar

Hi, Lot of Power Electronics/smps Books are there, but Practical smps Circuits are not available all the times. As to build smps Circuit, lot of Practical Knowledge is required and those make the Practical Circuits, donot share those for Commercial bindings or not to share knowledge. Keeping that in mind, I am posting here one Off Line +- 50V Tested Project, incorporating Schematic, Parts, PCB and Assembly Diagram. Those who are interested in smps, can study it for further design and modification. Good Luck. http://rapidshare.com/files/178382889/Off_Line_SMPS__-_50V.zipMore to follow...

Papers of 16 USA Universities about SMPS InvertersHi, I have uploaded the Thesis Papers on SMPS Inverters of 16 different USA Universities formulated under guidance of Expert Professors of those Universities and submitted to the Energy Challenge Competition with a Prototype Inverter made and the Thesis Papers. These are very resourceful papers and I was immensely benefited from those Papers in formulating my Ideas regarding SMPS Inverters. Hope, these papers will be useful to SMPS Professionals. Good Luck. http://rapidshare.com/files/182495660/16_University_inv_papers.rar

Hi, For Offline smps power supply, Top and Tny Switches of Power Integration are very useful and cost effective. Here, I am posting one Thesis Paper by a student of Queensland University regarding small scale offline power supply using TNY Switch. This is a very useful circuit and I learned many things from this paper. Hope, it will be useful for those who want to indulge in offline small scale smps power supply. http://rapidshare.com/files/186060382/TNY_Switch_Power_Supply.rar

Hello. Power-Switching Converters Second Edition Simon Ang, Alejandro Oliva CRC Press 2005 In my opinion this is one of the best book about ZVS and ZCS converters, Im looking it since one year and still nothing. If someone has that book please share it. Preview: http://books.google.com/books?id=YTC9D5YRvqcC

Hi tpek, I have gone through the preview and it seems that the Book is useful indeed. However, I was not aware of this Book earlier and collected lot of Books from Net and abroad other than this one. I will try to collect this one and before that if anybody kindly upload it, then it will be useful. I am having a different book named: Switch-Mode Power Converters Design and Analysis by Keng C. Wu. If you require that Book, I can upload.

This is the best application note that came to my mind . http://www.st.com/stonline/products/literature/an/14827.pdfIts a 1KW pushpull(+inverter) with full design procedure . But since i see you want info about PFC too this gives me the uncanny idea you think offline pushpull . When you think offline you should consider halfbridge or fullbridge . Pushpull will put to much voltagestress on your mosfets . (its very well capable of delivering 700 Watt but from lower input voltages .) Good luck .

Hi, Walkura is correct. For offline, you should consider half bridge or full bridge and you should use pushpull when stepping up from battery voltage to high voltage dc as the reason is amply cleared by walkura. The application note is good for seasoned smps users. The Books of Marty Brown, Pressman, Mack and Lenk are sufficient for an ardent smps practitioner/user. If some one follow those Books sincerely, no new avenue regarding push pull and other Topologies of smps will be there- everything will be Cristal clear. However, if you require some schematics, those can be provided- no problem.

You could disassemble them to get the core ,the rest will go to waste . You can dissolve the laque and glue's with putting it in either aceton or painthinner for a day . The wire and isolation layers go to trash ,but the core will come out in a way you can reuse it after cleaning . Just put it on a well ventilated place both solvents are far from healthy . If you desolve your brain in the process the core lost its value
