Windows Vista - Problems?

Just wondering if it is just me.

Does anyone here have any problems or bad experiences with Windows Vista?

I noticed that some of my programs will not install in Vista, i.e. Photoshop CS3.

Try running your CS3 in Windows XP compatibility mode...

I don't have any problems in Windows Vista... It's just that, it is too sluggish compared to windows XP...

Try downloading the latest service pack, as it fixes many of the "speed" issues in Vista...

Patch here, patch there, I think Bill Gates' trying to keep us busy. Maybe going the way of Linux might be a better idea.

I use Adobe CS3 just fine under Vista Ultimate... maybe your using the 64bit version of Vista? I do agree, Vista crashes quiet often and has many compatibility issues. Tell us more about the problem? What happens when you try to install?

win XP is still the better solution than VISTA.
Especially now when SP3 is out.

Win XP is better.

Agreed...much faster than boggy Vista, all them "bells n whistles" come at an unacceptable performance loss
which equates to an infuriating wast of money for a substandard product!

M$ would be better to continue streamlining XP as in SP3.

in order to install cs3 on vista:
1) run as administrator command line interface
2) type this command regsvr32 jscript.dll in order to enable java library not enable as default from micro$oft
3) try to perform cs3 installation

i think the ideas implemented on vista (for example uac) are very good but vista is still an young operative system and many software are not developed to support it...
i'm very curious about what micro$oft will implement on the vista's service packs in the next years... and i'm very curious about next generation of Micro$oft operation system windows 7...
