Looks nice easy to sue, I would have to look at changing my utc1000 controller: which one would you recommend to use or build ?

It was developed for use with Chinese cnc machines.

My cnc is an old Chinese 6040 but ended up doing some upgrades and used 3 CW5045 Microstepping Drivers with the USB MOTION CONTROLLER uc100 and Mach 3, but sometimes it gets a glitch and freezes.
The one in the link you posted would I still need to use the stepper drivers ?

Yes you need the drivers, for the board above, as it only had step & direction outputs.
is this the same controller as you have? if so it was on the list of boards that are supported

No this is the motion controller I have
https://www.cnc4you.co.uk/Motion-Control/UC100-USB-Motion-Controller
And this is the kit I have
https://www.cnc4you.co.uk/CNC-Kits/Stepper-Motor-Kits/2.2Nm-3-Axis

Wonder if the motion controller in the link posted work with the CP0-10V Breakout Board from that kit ?

Guess for the cost of that motion controller I could get one to try

I'm updating my self-built cnc with assembled electronics, now with parallel breakout board and dm556 drivers are similar to yours, with this usb:

https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005005989732155.html?dp=5dd7d184cde12d72475cfbad&cn=ah&aff_fcid=56f3b80235ae4fc2a93a0d58c5610b8d-1711273417706-08591-_9IM1Y0&tt=CPS_NORMAL&aff_fsk=_9IM1Y0&aff_platform=portals-tool&sk=_9IM1Y0&aff_trace_key=56f3b80235ae4fc2a93a0d58c5610b8d-1711273417706-08591-_9IM1Y0&terminal_id=96e65b6bd73848e78bbe2ad742b79239&afSmartRedirect=y

here you will find info for configuring the breakout and the necessary drivers for mach3.

https://buildyourcnc.com/item/electronicsAndMotors-electronic-component-breakout-Mach3-USB-Board

I just ordered it, I'll update as soon as it arrives.

Is this one to use with software uploaded here or with mach3 ?

I think it can be used with both software. the one posted here is supplied by most China CNC Machines.

developed to use usb port, in place of the 25pin printer port used by the mach software .

the board posted replaces this board, it is as near identical with the added controller on the pcb.

on the buildyourcnc site at the indicated link, there is the driver and instructions step by step for using the breakboard with mach3
the driver is called RnRMotion.dll in the instructions it is indicated how to load and configure it.

Which is the better controller out of the 2 shown on here ?
Or any recommended descent usb controller that does not have to convert to parallel port (has these don’t exist anymore)
Also I know you really or possible to say which is the better software out of these  two, I know Mach 3 is really good but it’s so old now and not moved forward in years.
I’ve seen Mach4 but not seen a cracked version may be I can try the demo of it and would have to look into which controller is supported

Thanks

have a look at this vid, this board will work with both Mach 3 and DrufelCNCx64 software. can be had for as little as £15 - you do need motor drivers . you can use the ones you have. but again you can get them cheap.

As to the Software I think DrufelCNCx64 is easier to use than Mach3.

I was going to order one of the Red - Eagle boards. On ebay some come with a CD. Does anyone know which program is on this cd?

Thanks

Add: I can answer my own question. I received my board its the red one suggested above, it is compact and well built. The dvd that came in the box has a 2018 version of USB Mach3 which I assume has a fixed license. There are a bunch other files that are in Chinese.

https://drufelcnc.com/ has a lot of information on setting the board up and how to calibrate it.
Have you tried it yet?
