Can you be more specific? Looks like you found what you were looking for...

The gender thing is well uh... male sides have the pins and female sides have the sockets.

For your example shown, an SMA cable with a female connector will mate up to one side and a coax/BNC with a male side will mate up to the other side.

SMA side is male, BNC side is female. If the BNC has these Pins on the side it's female, a socket.
