Not so many on the Internet, so here is my version.

Some photos from different stages of the construction.





NB: As seen, I gave up using the cheap 3.5mm jack. Opted for a Neutrik better quality in 6.35mm.

The front panel is made from FR4 copper plated board.

The box is Hammond model 1455K1602 (good quality Canadian boxes). The end panels are black plastic.

So, to avoid the ugly black, I decided to use FR4 board in front of the ugly black. Made the scale dwg in ACAD and printed on plastic retro-projector foil for photo method of making PCBs. In the back, I cut a rectangle in the black plastic so light from blue leds will illuminate the writing.

It is looking good, and the light is not so invasive (intense) as it looks in the photo above.
