What do you guys think about standardizing publications/printed-material as PDF as a site rule?
Things like epub, djvu, PS, etc would need to be translated to PDF before being posted.
This way the translation's been done once, vs a few hundred times.

But the process to convert to PDF has many options, page size for example.
Would options be fixed?
I can convert to a tiny page for viewing in a tablet or similar device and it will be not optimal for computer screens...

No I say leave has is then the user can choose what they do and convert them selves if need be or what ever suits them, I use them Epub for kindle and PDF for computer which suits me better |

Leave the files in their native format it also avoids any potential formatting or conversion irregularities... |

Leave the files in their native format it also avoids any potential formatting or conversion irregularities I agree with that but what might be better is a sticky thread where user's could post what they consider the best tools for converting the different formats there are just too many programs out there and it would be helpful to sort out the best from the worse of those programs and save people a lot of useless downloads and trial & error with them |

I haven't seen that much here that wasn't PDF. That said, I'd rather get a funky format than nothing at all if I needed a book.
All PDF would be my preference though.

My preference is PDF and true pdf so you can copy and paste text if it need's translating but I've noticed an increase in just the e-pub format the odd djvu which are usually older uploads re-upped but in the end if you really need it you'll take any way you can get it

That pretty much sum's up my experience with convertors so far too , I'am not really impressed with any I've used There is nothing as good as a true PDF I'll take the book anyway I can get it ,something is better than nothing  |
