Hack a day Prize

Hello All,

I am new to this forum, and am pretty excited to learn and help others learn a little bit more about electronics design! If any of ya'll are following the hack-a-day prize, do you have a favorite entry to this point? I'm pretty excited over the OSHW pick and place machine (link below). Imagine having the ability to have a small scale pcb fab/assembly house on your desk! Please let me know what entries you guys find interesting, I'm dying to know!

Nice idea but as they even state, their goal is $300 for a base model (and I suspect that won't be much more than the basic framework) up to $5000 for a full featured one, that's a heck of a big price range!!!  And that price range puts them right inline with other DIY pick place machines that have already been built like the RedFrog, that I have been tempted by but still can't pull the trigger...

I look forward to most of these new CNC builds, but I have yet to see a 'low end' model that has wowed me...
