hello

I want to build a 125Khz reader module .

But before start i have some questions

as long as i read the only chip available in farnell is the ATMEL - U2270B-MFPY  ....

and in the other side mikroe sells the ua4095 based one:

I'm guessing (fuctard's question number 0)  if i can reuse the pcb antenna form in order to do it in my own u2270 design .. or i got to do an external coil


and Q number 2:  do you know another supplier for the ua4095 one???

I'm not sure about the readers you've mentioned, however I've done a fair few projects in the past using the Innovations ID-12. It operates at 125KHz and has no need for an external antenna. Output is in ASCII so you can use it with practically any type of microcontroller. I'm not sure if that exact reader is available anymore, however Innovation does have a fairly comprehensive range to suit a number of different purposes. It might be worth your while to check them out since they're very easy to implement.

I bought on ebay the 4095, i'm  waiting its arrival, i still have some questions about the pcb antenna ... anyway, i'll try it when i'll have the IC

Due to the low cost reader modules, I strongly advise not to build your own, unless your are bored and have nothing to do (then you can change the oil for my car) 

Cheap readers such as ID-12, ID-11 or the even cheaper sibling EM-18 (commonly used for Chinese domestic market) are easily available.

My suggestion is to go for the higher frequency MIFARE version rather than 125kHz stuff.
IMO The Mifare system are a bit more robust against interference.

No i have not enough Skills to do that ^^

... Anyway i'll wait two weeks till receive the IC's ...  i'll play a little with the em4095 anyway....

i want to have my first steps on rfid universe in the semi diy way ^^ ...  I'm expecting to put the 4095 with a pic, a lcd and a cdc link to pc to test codes and then enable acces to my door ^^ :p  (ok that was not funny)


off-topic question:  do you know a reliable chinese supplier for buying some meters of RGB individually controlled Led Strips???  (kinda WS2801 ) ... i watched some stuff on the www but i'm not sure at all of a reliable one ...  thnks

Of course, but they want to get a MOQ of a few hundred meters..
And what is "reliable"?  is that as long as a piece of string?

just for add some information, there´s a company called stronglink (google it) that has some readers with  no external antenna, and they are small
