Hi, guys, there is lower version for ICD 2. The PICKIT2. PICKIT2 now support in MPLAB 7.62 the latest version. Using MPLAB, it support less model of PICs but if using the software from Microchip, the PICKIT2 software then will support more PICs. There is only one problem, it is not support FUSES CONFIGURATION change but Microchip release the source code so have to modify ourselves. Thanks! Enjoy!

Hi, ICD2 is in circuit debugger, it can program and debugger almost all the Microchip MCU but PICKIT2 is different. It can only program almost all the Microchip MCU but debug a few range of Microchip MCU. As a conclusion, PICKIT2 design is simple than ICD2. You can have a details at this both site

potyo2 is good icd2 clone. it is programming pic24fxxx series. Many icd2 clones don't programme / debug 3.3 v pic. rs232 icd2 clone is very very slow.

Hi, olotill, sorry for the late reply, the fuses configuration is still limited. We have to manually modify the source code.

Hi, guys !! a good news for those who using PICKIT2. Microchip had launched the latest MPLAB 7.62 which can support more PICs but compare with the real PICKIT2 is still far. There is only a weakness in PICKIT2 software is the fuses configuration cannot be change. Thanks !!

By default MPlab has the config fuses set to load from your code. So untick the "Configuration Bits set in code." found in the Configure menu top bar. then you have controll over setting the config bits.
