Anyone seen any cheap Arduino Due clones yet

Hi,

I fancy a look at the new Arduino Due (The one with the ARM processor) but I'm too tight to pay full whack for one, especially given the price of the STM32 dev boards. Has anyone seen any cheap clones yet ? They seem a little thin on the ground. There are a few on eBay but they are either more money (!!!) than a proper one or very close.

I'm expecting dealextreme to have a few of those soon. They are by far the cheapest source of all the other Arduino boards.

A saving of £2.08. Not worth it for a clone.

I don't think he is looking for just any ARM evaluation board, but one that is Arduino-compatible (i.e. to use existing Arduino modules). Otherwise I'd recommend a Raspberry Pi - at $25, the A version is a great bang for the buck.

(edit) actually it turns out someone makes adapters that let you use Arduino modules with the Raspberry Pi - however the adapter is expensive (I saw it for $55 which is ridiculous: http://microcontrollershop.com/product_info.php?products_id=5533).

Being a "tight arse" as explained in post #1. This is perpetuated by the perpetrators of the clones, that produce a plethora of half (and less) price clones that already exist for most products. You come to expect it ! I don't think the original is expensive, but a cheaper clone is inevitable and I am in no hurry.

Why Arduino Due and not any other ARM board, I already have other ARM boards and I fancy a look see.

Like I said, I would watch dealextreme in the next months. The due has been out for less than 6 months only.

I am not arduino user, curiosity drive me to look into the due schematic - at $50 of the original price, i bet no clone can be half priced. Hard to be below $40 imo.

Many is the time I have thought exactly the same as Ichan, "It's can't be made for much less than xxx", eventually I get stunned by some far eastern website offering the device for less than one of the components on the board would cost me to buy. Time will tell as always.

Deal Extreme now have one. 48 USD, ~ 32 GBP so not massively cheaper but certainly the cheapest I have seen so far.

No reviews on DX yet - I wonder if that board even works properly. Does seem expensive compared to a similar STM32-based board. Are the Atmel processors really that much more expensive?  Hmmmm.
