Hi ,
i have question . the lpc1768 run at 100MHz but the flash can't run at this frequency .
and there is flash accelerator inside the LPC , but with this peripheral , does the micro can
run with maximum 100MHz speed ?, and if not why the NXP claims this .
thanks alot .

While I haven't had a chance to benchmark this, my understanding is that you can run full speed with zero wait states by using the flash memory accelerator as NXP states.

It's also my understanding that it will run at full speed using the accelerator. Those accelerators are quite common in the faster Cortex-M processors, and they're basically a combination of a look-ahead cache and a very wide-bus flash memory interface. So they read multiple instructions ahead of time and store them in RAM, ready for when the processor needs its next instruction.

but , do you mean that we should run the program from SRAM ? . my program entirely programed into flash !

I could be wrong but I think this is just a thing that the accelerator facilitates, so it won't matter. It will throw whatever it needs into RAM regardless.

Now you've piqued my interest and I think I know what my next project will be Smiley
