There are too many stickys in the ebooks and tutorials forums http://www.sonsivri.com/forum/index.php?board=19.0 , and the Holiday and Celebration topic was just added as well. Shouldn't that be in the general topic?

I used the E&T forum to monitor ( and link/upload where I can) the monthly magazines, and check for any new ebooks. Now it is showing just the 3 most recent posts ( that are not stickys).

I think "ESE" should be removed from stickies, I don't see the value of the  "LCD, CRT, TFT, Plasma, OLED, CCD, CMOS Display and Analog, Digital television" either. Perhaps the non english magazines should be consolidated into a subforum? The "useful ebooks" topic is ... useful, but I think that the posters should have posted computer related ebooks into the computer ebooks section.

I hope I am not sounding prissy, I feel that E&T pages are too cluttered. Oh, and I understand how hard it must have been for the  admins to clean up the Elektor, EPE, CC etc topics which is why I avoid creating useless postings.

Yep it sounds crowded in a first look but we know people avoid searching and make more crowd while asking. Holiday post is added for temporarily to spot attention on the poll.

We could make that board more clear but there is a workaround; just surfing to 2nd page. Bbarney will tell the last, he knows better than me.

Removed a few sticky's and merged a few, there are lots of sticky's because there are lots of topics that just can't be merged without making things harder to find (non-english mags)
visn the reason topics are made sticky is because everyone is always looking for them, just because something doesn't interest you doesn't mean we should let it go non-stickey where it will take you a long time to find it, take the LCD, CRT, TFT, Plasma, OLED, CCD, CMOS Display  topic you now will be searching through 18 pages to find it next time you need it
Hope your happy  Smiley

Yeah, I tried not to be a nuisance about it. I have been cleaning up my desktop, and dropped the icon count to 48 and folder count to 24. I backuped my downloads, bought a vacumn cleaner, and also folded the clothes in my closet.

I still can't find anything  Roll Eyes

I think make about 4 more stickys, and then you only need to go, to page #2. (jk)

There are too ,many stickies in the "software and tools" forum too, with only space for three changing daily posts.

Some of the stickies have not been posted in for a long time.

Why not just unsticky some of them?
I.E. any that were not posted in for 3 months.

What your saying is not true, for sticky status, see 2nd and third posts in topic
http://www.sonsivri.to/forum/index.php?topic=27456.msg91927#msg91927

If you unsticky just the ones not posted in,over time, you end up with room for 3 or 4 new topics, topics that are stickys are mostly read or searched for.

Maybe some should not be there, but if a none sticky topic has a good following then it will replace one that is not needed.

If you are only interested in new content then just click the 'Show unread posts since last visit.' on the main page it will skip over all the stickies in all the forums and only show threads with new postings...  Granted most of them will be invite me threads but it's still pretty easy to sort through in no time...
