The STM32F3DISCOVERY is yet another bargain Cortex-M4 development board from STM. Currently in stock from DigiKey for $10.90, Mouser at $16.54 (odd, as Mouser seems usually cheaper), and Farnell showing 24-Nov at £8.81. Considerably less Flash and RAM than the STM32F4DISCOVERY at 256KB/48KB vs 1MB/192KB, but amazingly for the price, includes an L3GD20 3-axis gyro and LSM303DLHC 3-axis accelerometer/3-axis magnetometer.
Seems to come loaded with a simple demo ap for the gyro and compass, and example code is provided for configuring most of the processor’s peripherals, but as is typical for STM, not a whole lot of supplementary support material appears to be available. I'm hoping this is so cheap that it'll prove irresistible to the hobby IMU developer camp, though, so maybe we’ll see some really nice code for it soon.
Sure can’t complain at the price, though, and I’ve just ordered two to play with.
