I am looking for project, schematic and Basic language source  (any compiler BUT BASIC) for
frequency meter or a digital tachometer consists of the following elements:

 - PIC16F84
 - Freq. Max Read 1666.65KHz (99999 maxrpm) (My range need 0-20000rpm)
 - Data read on FIVE multiplexed 7 segment display ,common catode or anode (NO LCD!!!!)
 - TTL input ( no buffer o prescaler need)
 - PCB not required

For years, working only with 8051 but this little job I was specifically required the use of the PIC.
I have no experience of use and compilation issues for these microprocessors (PIC), which is why I try
to edit a project nearly complete, the Basic programming language is almost universal and easily understood
I tried a lot of networking, but so far I found only projects with LCD and with sources in assembler.
I thank all users who will give me a help.
