hi!
BY DTMFOUT command in Proton we can send DTMF tones on the telephone line but how we can receive these DTMF signals on the receiving end if both transmitted and receiving sides are controlled by the PIC microcontroller

Looks like decode can be done in software, here's an example using a 16F877:

Otherwise hunt down a DTMF decoder chip and let its hardware do the work,
feed the outputs to PIC inputs.

It uses MT8870 DTMF decoder and PIC microcontroller to decode telephone tones.
