Are you sure you got the numbers correct. RCA used to use the 2nxxxx suffix for transistors. Perhaps if you could post a picture of this transistor. Also perhaps this google search may help you. But it may also be a rabbit hole

And also look her

Hi Bob !
thank you very much for your attentions and suggestions. As requested here are the pic of the
transistor. I has bees looking in old RCA data book from 1975, 1979, ...   no good result.
The only thing to do is check the transistor phisically in a lab test circuit  to see some
specs.

I can not find this transistor referenced any place. If you set up some simple tests. You can find if it is a NPN,PNP darlington transistor, pinout, and Hfe. If you at the same time know the range of operating voltage. You should be able to find a replacement

if you don't have a component tester. a meter could show if PNP or NPN
The base & emiter if tested as a Zener would show as Silicon/or/Geranium.
as for the voltage check the value of elctro-caps.

Hi guys for your cooperation,   yes..its a little hard find some specs about this device. I will make some test
to get some work values. Thank you very much.!

yes it is clear I was looking at with out download, it is look like a OEM part number you must use DCA component analyzer to get all parameters of this transistor.

I have such experience with Diathermy a transistor mark with just five digit number after analyzing with DCA turnout to be bux21 and after replacing it in faulty equipment it start working and give same out put power described in service manual.

A very common power transistor at time (and still is actually) was the 2n3055. I am not by any means saying you have a 2n3055 in your system. But in your 1978 RCA databook find the specs and compare it to yours

Hello,
it seems complicated to find characteristics of this transistor, the solution is to place an "equivalent" type NPN of about 500 Vce and IC of about 5 A and wait for results.  The system works at a rail voltage of 420 VDC
Thank you very much .

You might check the RCA SK cross reference book.

http://bitsavers.trailing-edge.com/components/rca/SPG-202Z_RCA_SK_Series_Replacement_Guide_1981.pdf

ECG and NTE also published similar books through the late 1980s.

Hi ZAC,
thank you very much  for your post. I have found in the data sheet you mentioned a reference
for the RCA 17547    and are equivalent to SK3260,   for this the data sheet data are :
 Type Designator: SK3260

Material of Transistor: Si

Polarity: NPN

Maximum Collector Power Dissipation (Pc): 150 W

Maximum Collector-Base Voltage |Vcb|: 160 V

Maximum Collector-Emitter Voltage |Vce|: 140 V

Maximum Emitter-Base Voltage |Veb|: 7 V

Maximum Collector Current |Ic max|: 30 A

Max. Operating Junction Temperature (Tj): 200 °C

Transition Frequency (ft): 0.8 MHz

Collector Capacitance (Cc): 75 pF

Forward Current Transfer Ratio (hFE), MIN: 75

Noise Figure, dB: -

Package: TO3

Seems the good equivalent. I will buy and try.
Have a good day !

Now as you have some data you can do a parametric search on component reseller sites. Mouser has an excellent parametric search. I do not think sk3260 is easy to find. As it is outdated by now i think.

Hi,
the final solution adopted is try the NTE284, as good sustitute. This device is easy to find/buy  and have datasheet.

No do not use NTE at all they will rip you off. What NTE is doing. They buy up surplus and rebrand parts. After that they sell the parts with a very high markup. Why do you not follow my tip. The NTE part cost 19 dollars ish. I did find parts on mouser that did cost under 2 euro. And these parts were all in spec or better

Hi ! Bob,  I will follow your notes. Finally looking in the other modules working, I have found in one of these one
transistor RCA 2N6259....    so  this is equivalent and functional device,  so I guess it is the right reference to
solve the problem.
for your help
Thank´s a lot to all people for your help.
