Five years a Member, maybe he was celebrating going into another year of leeching, by making post number two.

we need to slow down on members, 1st, 2nd, 3rd time are OK, we are losing members because we mute them immediately.

I'm sorry but that was a Member 5 years plus and he made a post like that.
He is not a Member here, Members in A Forum must be active..
How can he be a Lost Member?
This was his other post

Fellows, I got this running. Win7, Mplabx2.3, XC8 1.33D (last patch), and the last MXC1321.7z
pretty fine, code shrinked, all ok.
Thanks to all you for your time and Top for his great contribution.
Regards.

Seriously, I am against how things are being managed here. If I am being treated this way on this forum or a different one, for sure I will avoid posting/asking and will eventually leave, we also need to stop being harsh on people.

Even if inactive for 10 years. The idea is that a member has the right to be warned for, say 3 times by a friendly PM, not even to be marked by a warning, warning should be for behavior, rather than for being inactive.

Members here are afraid to post/ask for things because if they are inactive they get haunted and muted immediately by you or me or any other admin. That's why I have been saying that we should have a thank you system that will allow us to overcome muting inactive members policy, which is a useless policy after all, hence you no longer need to PM a user for being inactive, things will be clear for everyone. If the uploader decides on 50 thanks/likes, and the other members will not be able to view the content unless they have 50 thanks/like or more.. Myself I started to feel irritated about muting all this count of members here.

Many of those inactive users are a real-world professionals that we should not keep insulting for being inactive. The forum should be open for all members, regardless of being active or not, depending on a likes count system will ensure respect for all members to be honest.

May be it is time for us to change our policy, and slow down on members. Look at your hand, your fingers are not alike, so don't expect all members to think the same way you do. To make a long story short, if you are inactive, you can't see the content, that's it, simple. As admins here we are supposed to keep things organized and disciplined, our job has become haunting inactive members, which is illogical.

well if that's the case we don't need any mods.

some have more than 5 warnings, and are still logging in.
without post this is not a forum.
they might as well tag any forum as a guest.. note I use Guest...

Don't Forget a Mute takes a user back to that of Guest but with extras.

Its up to members to post, in a forum. if no one posts there is no forum.
It don't take much to post, just then a member 15 years an so many warning just logged in.
If a member has not posted in 5 years, what value are they as a member?

Sorry I don't see why if they act like they do. then removing such users don't effect the forum.
No posts = no forum. I don't see why removing zero posters = a forum.

In some forum, I have not done any posts since 2013, recently I was surprised that my account is still active, I could post again, and I did, etc..  That post was a request actually, and no admin muted me for being inactive..

If the forum is a closed environment, for a very long time, this is normal to happen i.e. less posts and contributions. You also understand the nature of this forum and the fact that hobby electronics has changed since 2014, add to it that real hobbyists got older and more family-related stuff to do.

Im with Metal on this.

I asked a question a long time ago and got told off for all sorts of things.

Can you please realise that we are not all UBER crackers like a LOT of you guys are, and we come here to admire YOUR work. If that makes us leeches then SORRY!

You might notice this is my first post in a LONG time, for the reasons Metal has noted, certain of you seem to e too happy to jump on people like me and mute / boot/ or whatever. I could get really p*ssy about how childish it looks from the outside but I won't because I can guess what will happen next and tbh it would simply prove my argument.

A LOT of "noobs" (or leeches" as you call us) like me are afraid to post anything, because; ask a question and get told it's IN THE WRONG PLACE, Ask for help, we get ridiculed, ask for something to be done and we get called leeches, WAY TO WIN FRIENDS!

Sure, some come here to simlply find medicine for software, most like me come here to find how things are done (looking at the modified code etc) but it still doesn't mean I understand how said medicine is made and certainly doesnt mean I can be useful by actually cracking stuff.

GIVE US A BREAK and please be a little less eager to stomp on newbies, all you do is discourage people from joining and posting for fear of falling foul of some arbitrary whim. A case of damned is we do and damned is we don't?

we are not all about users being crackers. A forum is just that, it's simple you post.
what happens is you get a warning - mute follows if you take no note of warnings.
How many warnings do you think people need, I know if I was warned I would change.
You don't see user 10 - 15 years and zero postings.

also You have never been warned - so why this post.?

If you cannot crack software or share cracked software , you can share your experience in projects and share good ebooks or tricks in softwares and etc. I think in this forum there isn't anything to fear and don't worry for mistakes ( You can improve them ) , be useful and help others in anything in hole electrical engineering subjects that you can , just this .
