Hi apurahman,
PICKIT2 is a Windows 32bit application, and there is no problem to install it on a 64bit Windows system. Lets the system to install the software in c:\Program Files (x86)\Microchip\ directory. Program Files (x86)\ is use for all 32bit applications and Program Files\ only for 64bit applications. I use it for years with no problem. Best regards.

Same goes with me. Jusa as titi and LzEn said. The PickKIT2 Standalone software runs well with WIN 7 X64. But there was one time, when I had some issue with it. I just set the compatibility so WIN XP SP3 and I set it to run it always as ADMIN. Since then I had no problem.

You need a dotnet framework to run the Pickit2 programming software on any PC. verify you have it or download the same available form the microchip download section. Regarding Pickit2 programmer, i was using it on windows XP and now on Windows8.1 64 bit OS without any problems.

You need a dotnet framework to run the Pickit2 programming software on any PC. Just a clarification if you dislike .NET like me .NET is not needed if you use the PICkit 2 Command Line Interface. Let us know if you need help with setting up the parameters but they are well documented in the readme.txt

Just a clarification if you dislike .NET like me There is nothing wrong with .NET, I use both, Delphi and C#, once I started using C# 3 weeks ago, I no longer have to go back to delphi (the new Cobol) and I am able to do all stuff I did with delphi and with less code lines, I used to complain about C# requiring .NET and some other dll files while my apps with delphi never needed that, so be it, actually no one cares...! What I wanted to say is that love/hate are relative to our perspectives which are only ours.. I am needless to say that I was another asshole some day ;- )

I agree, we are all different and have different perspectives as well as requirements. Reason to love/hate .NET may vary. I'm not really "hating" .NET per se it's just that for my own "smallish" projects I prefer the lean way over the bloated but thats just me.

Hi apurahman, Most of 32 bit applications works on Windows 64 bit. I have an Official PICKIT 2 Operating System and it works fine on my Windows 7 64 Bit. When PICKIT 2 started, 64 Bit operating system was not so present, and MICROCHIP had not validate his software for 64 bit operating system. But, it is not because Microchip has not validate its software, that it doesn't works ! So I don't understand your problem... Try it, and you will see that it works well.
Best regards.

I am using PICKIT 3 on windows 10 (64-bit). I think that It is not compatible. It is really difficult to exit this program while pickit 2 is ok.

You should run PICKit 2 or 3 as adminstrator.

Hi,
1) Can you check pickit2 USB connection. Click the Start button, and then, on the Start menu, click Devices and Printers. 2) windows demonstrate "Pickit2", if not, then reinstale driver (from Microchip package, no from Microsoft) 3) Can you give us more details about the problem. 32 bit application works on Windows 64 bit usually well. Some times you need to set compatible mod, some times you start application as administrator, some times you need changes on registers (use regedit) ...
