What is this for?

Tried the latest version in my Logic clone (actually CY7C68013A breakout board). Tested with 2 RS232 signals (9600), oddly it reported it was unable to operate at 24 or 16 Msamples/sec. Other than that, new version seems OK and a few more analyzers added - now has USB fs but I dont know if that will work with my hardware. I'll give it a spin when I get both versions installed.

Reverted to 1.1.34 with same signals will run at 24 Msamples/sec

Changelog for 1.2.2 is pending.

Is that a virgin board with original 24LC128 or you replaced it with one recommended in main topic?

Pickit2

Yes and no, it's an unmodified board pluged into a piece of breadboard with an 24LC01 and some protection, it's not necessary to remove or disable the on-board EEPROM.

From about 1.1.24ish protection was added to detect clones, protection detected the oversize EEPROM. But I suspect, you already knew that.

As stated in an a related thread, the latest beta, 1.2.3 beta seems to solve the problem. The problem is listed as solved in the change log - along with quite a few others.

Thanks for the update, George.  For future reference, I have a handful of original devices, so if you ever need to test an original against a clone, let me know and I will be happy to post the results. :-)

#Mega32

most clones/breakout boards were supplied with a larger EEPROM (holds USB PID and SID) than that which was fitted to Saleae's (and USBee for that matter) original product. Presumably this was done because the old 24LC01 EEPROM's were harder to source.

Saleae detect the difference and exploit it as a protection scheme.

You can defeat this protection scheme by adding 24LC01 essentially in parallel with the existing 24LC128. Because of the vagaries of addressing the CY7C68013A sees the 01 first.
