Sourcing for Power Inductors

I always have difficulties on finding a good source for magnetic components like power inductor.

For example, I need 1mH 1A radial inductor - searching on Digikey give me one as attached. Look at the price, unbelievable high $3.51 at 5000 qty? Ups, the budget is about one tenth of it!

Any one who knows good source of it which can serve small and large qty order then please share.

Anyone who try to answer this question may get trouble with rule # 7 - No Advertising.

So how about special section for it? Edaboard has it - and I think we all enjoy reading advertisement on electronic magazines.

Get yourself an Inductance meter and wind your own. Much cheaper.

I also thinking to wind our self, but then we have to source the core too and winding 10K inductors will give another complexity.

Anyway, anyone knows how to determine the saturated current of an inductor? I was thinking that it is higher than rated current, but from some inductor datasheet i found for large inductance the saturated current tend to be smaller than the rated current (?)
