NXP has recently been pushing Zephyr RTOS. I watched one of their presentations. It's free, open-source, and includes things like TCP/IP stacks. Other big names like Intel and Nordic are also behind it. It seems interesting.

I'm using FreeRTOS (now owned by Amazon), but on my next project, I would consider Zephyr.

Super similar, but I think there is a lot more support to package re-usable code with Zephyr in the way that Ardiuno has/had a lot of code contributors and libraries.

It's probably worth noting that a lot of the code sucks or isn't really what you want, and that using some Zephyr HAL or driver will require their bla and their other bla bla, and all of sudden you're locked in.

I've been really hoping a serious IDE would take up Rust for microcontrollers and try that out.

Do you have any book or video tutorials to learn more about Zephyr?

I am interested
