mini2440 ... good idear ?

Hi all

Today I found mini2440 PCB: low price, ethernet, input/outputs, correct speed  ...

I don't know anything about ARM processor. My question was: is it possible to create RFID project using this module ? what sort of (easy) langage can be used for this ? this because, with such a low price, it would be a good solution to remove my actual RFID system. I have actually two weigand readers and an ethernet module but I don't like the soft provided. I would like to create my soft: automatic server request for in/out, forbiden RFID opérations...

mini2440 have Qtopia and WIN CE (5 & 6 ). in linux there is GCC and in WIN CE you can use VS.net 2008(plus SDK for WIN CE)
use RS232 or TTL serial port to connect with RFID module.

u can use this arm stuff to create a rfid project.where as this is going to be the costly solution.this is arm9 kit.where as to full fill your requirement(rfid),there is no need of such high end equipment ,u can do this with 89xx or pic18fxxx itself.if u want to use arm itself,then u can use LPC2138 which has more than enough resouces for ur estimated application.and also the cost is going to be 5 to 8 times cheaper than the present solution which u selected.

In fact I would like to use a PIC18F. To do so, it will be more easy to be abble to test with Proteus but there is not RFID simulation here and, above all, Proteus give me real time errors as soon I ask for ethernet functions with mikroe. I don't understand why because proteus examples seems to work correctly (exept for some inexistent files but it works) This is strange because I can't understand why an hex file generated by x or y will have a problem with a soft using it. Searching on the web, I found other people have same kind of problem with Mikroe/Proteus. That's why I was looking for others solutions.

For RFID simulation,do one thing,use comport ,vitual terminal,connect the physical rfid board to serialport,then in proteous connect the serial port connections to uC,u can also connect virtual terminal to the same lines as tapping.so u can monitor what was realy happening. if u have problems with mikroe,then try for other compilers,u have wide choices ,in c language domain,or basic language domain.

Btw, did You check that it is hard to find where to buy that Samsung microcontroller itself?
