Hello,
I'm looking for a simple to use Microchip PIC.
Any suggestions?

I'm looking for something with an Internal OSC. ( 4Mhz + )

I'm currently using the PIC16F684.  but I'm always interested to hear what others are using.

I was using the PIC16F84a and the PIC16f628, but neither have internal Osc.

Thanks for your input!

Not sure if its the difference between a 16F628 and a 16F628A but the A series definitely has a 4Mhz osc.

bbarney, I am sure it is internal RC oscillator, not Crystal.
I wish it is tho .. it would be really great if it is  Cheesy

I think the OP  jcsntoll is asking for a simple project using PIC with internal osc.
Something that came to mind is LED sublimation clock.
Or a simple alarm unit.

Hi,
You can use PIC12F675, PIC12F683, PIC16F88 or PIC16F690.

I use 16F690 for 16F series and 18F2525 for 18F series.
Both have excellent peripheral support and are the cheapest chips for what they have to offer.

the choice for Microchip is very wide... Smiley

so every one I think choseing Microchip on memory requirement. as now a days C compilers become more and more strong we can choise wide range. right from 12F to dspic or pic32. If you can use C and slight a bit asm then any one of microchip is sutable for you. Now you have to decide which is correct for product. Rest of programeing and memory management that all is your skill. Do good project skill will automatically get increase. And obsuly keep touch with sonsivri so that every one here increase skill with each othere experiences and abilities.

I highly thanks sonsivri for giving me change to be on this forum

The best way to learn to work with microcontrollers, you buy a book with examples for a particular model, then you can follow certain steps. It is interesting you use Proteus, so you will have a large stock of PICs to burn. You find proteus here :http://www.sonsivri.com/forum/index.php?topic=3134.725
