This is very nice; is possible to find patch for linux and osx too?
Latest I could find for Linux and MacOS is Simplify3D 4.0.1. Perhaps will be of help. MEGA links.

Question was sorta ask above but as a total noob, is it possible to run Configuration Assistant (without a logon).
Edit. I see how to import a factory file (.fff), is that the same as running the Configuration Assistant

After installing software and patch (.reg and dll file), selecting configuration assistant under the help menu brings up a login window (with login name GOD and no password). How do I select a 3D printer?

Unfortunately in Simplify3d printer profiles can only be obtained through the manufacturer's server, i.e. it is necessary to have a regular license. The alternative is to search online for a profile ready for your printer, for the most common the manufacturers themselves make them available, or create it by manually entering the various parameters.

@xwing
"..or create it by manually entering the various parameters."
Do you need a valid license to create a custom printer? If not, how to do that? (ah 7 years of secondary education and my exquisite grammar called into play)

A valid license is not required to create a print profile, it is only needed to download the ready profiles created by them from the Simplify 3D server. The "cured" version of the program blocks access to the server, in order to avoid deactivating the program remotely. The easiest way to create a new profile is to use the default one, modify the various parameters as needed, save it with a new name using the export profile function. Another way is to start from a ready profile, they are easily found, of a printer similar to ours and modify it. It goes without saying that to create a printing profile it is essential to have a minimum of knowledge of how a 3d printer works and how to act on the various parameters that determine its operation.

Found profile (.fff file) for BIBO 3D printers here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B76TjeOkslHlZ2VBLXBSdzJYdms/viewAnyone have the profiles for a Dremel 3B45 or a QIDI X-max? If you have access to their profile library, you can export the profile into a .fff file. Thanks!

Simplify3D publishers obviously mismanaged a lot of stuff and, long neglected what was once considered reliable and innovative software. It is also obvious they are minding the dollar instead of their commitment to those who already own a license from them. That being said, I am not in a hurry to come to a verdict before giving it a try. The slicer scene is prone to so many changes. Eventually, it may even become a function of the OS but there is still a long way towards standardization.

I paid for the upgrade to 5. It is not worth it.
This is the last gasp of a dying company, and I am surprised they released it at all.

I've only used the previous version briefly then moved on the Prusaslicer. The new features would seem to make it worth reexamination but not worth so much cash.

Hi, is there any patch out for Simplify3d 5.0 yet.
For the moment there is no patch to try it, but I've seen several reviews on youtube and I don't think it's worth wasting time, in the end it does nothing more than what free slicers like Cura and Prusalicer offer. Probably the only point in favor of Simplify3d 5 is that it seems to be slightly faster, we are talking about 5-10% better, than other slicers.
