Hi, I hope someone can help me
I have built an automatic trasnfer switch for genset
it makes all necesary to turn on the motor of the
generator when the mains goes down.
The circuit has a 18f452 and an LCD 2x16 Truly
the problem is that sometimes the lcd after hours of working ok
hangs up and the display becomes black ( the pic still works ok)
I put big capacitors in the power source (4700uF - 7805-4700uF)
but the problem persists

This is a common problem with LCD.

The LCD driver circuit tend to hang when large load sharing the same line switches on/off.

What you can do is keep re-initilise the LCD after every few minutes irrespective weather the LCD hang or not. That is what I do.

"The LCD driver circuit tend to hang when large load sharing the same line switches on/off."

I don't agree with this statement, there must be something wrong with the software. Re-initilse periodically can cover up the real problem but not a proper solution.
